The privacy of investorLYNX users (businesses) and members (investors and professionals) and
their information is important to investorLYNX. All users and members of the investorLYNX are covered by the following Privacy Policy. This Policy does not apply to other entities that not owned or controlled by investorLYNX, or persons that are not employed by investorLYNX, or agents, contractors or affiliates that are not subject to investorLYNX's control. investorLYNX reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy. investorLYNX may release user or member information in compliance with law enforcement agencies if required by law to do so.
This Privacy Policy is subject to change. investorLYNX will notify its users and members of changes to this Policy either by posting a prominent announcement on the site and/or by sending a message to the e-mail address provided in the Member Account information and settings.
Persons under 18 years of age are prohibited from using the investorLYNX and services and are not authorized to submit any private information to the system. investorLYNX accepts no liability for such actions.
investorLYNX
investorLYNX is an online service that allows and encourages communication between businesses, prospective investors, and business professionals to connect and interact on a professional basis. The investorLYNX registration process requires you to provide personally identifiable information. There are several primary types of information that are collected including name, mailing address, email information or other submissions. investorLYNX must collect certain pieces of information in the normal course of its business and investorLYNX retains the ownership rights to this information. investorLYNX is not limited to the types of information collected and may, at a future date, determine it necessary to collect additional data. Users and members will be notified if any changes are made to this policy.
Profile
Following registration, investorLYNX users and members will be prompted to complete a profile. Current users and members can also make changes to their own profile. A profile may contain, but is not limited to, your name, your company name and location, and your company's goals and objectives. Good judgment should be demonstrated in the information posted in a profile since this will be viewed by others on investorLYNX. Your personal contact information CANNOT be viewed unless you release this information. Additionally, the information in your profile can be edited at your discretion at any time.
User and Member Accounts
Changes may be made to an investorLYNX account and any associated preferences at any time. We provide users and members with the ability to edit the information in the account information that was provided to us in registration. To make changes, users and members must log onto the investorLYNX and make any edits through the investorLYNX account section. Users and members may also request to terminate their investorLYNX by contacting our webmaster. Content or other data that may have been provided to us and that is not contained within the user's or member's account, such as posts that may appear within forums, may continue to remain on the investorLYNX site at our discretion even though the account is deleted. Internet
As part of its efforts to provide better services to investorLYNX users and members, investorLYNX may collect certain information related to the Internet and your computer. Like many web sites, investorLYNX may also automatically receive general information that is contained in its server log files such as the user's or member's IP address and cookie information for investorLYNX to analyze trends and provide superior service to it users and members. investorLYNX also follows a standard practice of using cookies and logs to analyze website usage. Cookies are exceptionally small files that are stored on a computer that help investorLYNX provide its users and members with a superior experience by automatically recalling user or member preferences each time the investorLYNX site is visited. Advertisements may appear on the investorLYNX web site and, if so, may set and access cookies on a user's or member's computer and is subject to the privacy policy of those parties providing the advertisement. However, the companies serving the advertising do not have access to investorLYNX's cookies. These companies usually use non-personally identifiable or anonymous codes to obtain information about user's and member's visits to our site. Cookies will not harm a computer in any way and can be deleted at any time.
Use of Data
investorLYNX may use data collected to customize and improve the experience on its site. investorLYNX will make every effort to ensure that users' and members' data will not be provided to third parties unless:
- (i) provided for otherwise in this Privacy Policy;
- (ii) we obtain user or member consent, such as when a user or member chooses to opt-in or opt-out to the sharing of data;
- (iii) a service provided on the investorLYNX site requires the interaction with or is provided by a third party, by way of example an Application Service Provider;
- (iv) pursuant to legal process or law enforcement of any United States jurisdiction;
- (v) we find that a user's or member's conduct and use of this site violates this Policy, Terms of Use, other usage guidelines or as deemed reasonably necessary by investorLYNX to protect its legal rights and/or property;
- (vi) this site is purchased by a third party whereby that third party will be able to use the data in the same manner as investorLYNX can as set forth in this Policy. In the event a user or member chooses to use links that appear on its site to visit other web sites, they are advised to read the privacy policies that appear on those sites.
No Guarantees
While this Privacy Policy states investorLYNX's standards for maintenance of data and information, we will make every effort to meet them but we cannot guarantee these standards. There may be factors beyond investorLYNX's control that may result in disclosure of data. As a consequence, we disclaim any warranties or representations relating to maintenance or nondisclosure of data.
System Generated Emails
As part of the normal functioning of investorLYNX, users and members may receive email requests from investorLYNX or from other users and members. Additionally, investorLYNX will send users system generated emails and promotional materials. These communications may begin during the registration process and continue while the user account remains on investorLYNX. If users wish to opt out of promotional emails, please contact investorLYNX and specify this request. Users can adjust the frequency of emails they receive by making these changes in the investorLYNX user account section.
Affiliate and Partner Services
investorLYNX does intend to use a third party to verify and process credit card information for any fees accessed on investorLYNX. All third parties are required to process credit card information in a secure manner and only for the purpose given to them, and they cannot store or release this information. Certain profile information, including contact information, may be released to investorLYNX's affiliates and partners for the purpose of marketing and improving investorLYNX's service to its users and members.
